Holly Jolly Blog Bingo … Day Four

Holly Jolly Blog Bingo ... Day Four

Yikes!  It’s Monday morning!  Nothing like getting up two hours before the crack of dawn and getting nothing done.  I have to play “mommy” here in a few and get my little guy off to school, so we better get busy and give away some goodies and bring on a few new words.  Hope everyone has an awesome Monday :)

SUNDAY’S WINNERS …

Wow!  You are an incredibly creative bunch!  I had a really hard time with this one, so what do we do when we can’t make up our minds?  Call in the kids.  I had them go through your entries and pick no less than 5 and no more than 10 of their favorites.  They came up with 8.  For your enjoyment, here they are (in no particular order) …

Christmas is coming.
There’s so much to do.
A practiced drum starts drumming.
As the Hallelujah Chorus begins on que.

Though caroling is heard.
There’s not a snowflake in sight.
The toys will be delivered.
By eight reindeer tonight.

With a cup of hot chocolate,
And a twinkle in his eye,
Santa readies himself for he is the pilot.
And off he goes with a quick goodbye.
… submitted by “Mama24Monkeys”

****************

TOYS bring joy,
and if it's a DRUM it will be even more fun..
Susie wants SNOWFLAKES to fill the sky
while CAROLING with HOT CHOCOLATE hoping to stay warm and dry!
REINDEER are sweet
and santa is neat
But let me Repeat
Christmas is best with a baby in it!
So stand and Praise the Father above
Christmas is all about His wonderful love!
In Just a few more days,
we'll be singing the HALLELUJAH CHORUS
Cause when The baby Jesus was born,
He is the greatest gift sent just for US!!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!
… submitted by Janita

****************

It's two weeks before Christmas
The REINDEER are fed
The TOYS in their boxes
I'm CAROLING in my head

The HALLELUJAH CHORUS is playing
and fills up the room
While a tiny white SNOWFLAKE
falls outside in the gloom

I'm drinking HOT CHOCOLATE
My home tight as a DRUM
Soon will be Christmas morning
Hallelujah! I hum...
… submitted by Veronica B.

****************

Oh won’t you come a carolling,
It’s quite the Christmas thing …
The Hallelujah Chorus …
how it moves me when they sing.

It warms my heart like Hot Chocolate
It makes me feel so festive
It fills me up with Christmas cheer,
Like Santa and his eight reindeer
With precious toys
For girls and boys

A snowflake settles on my nose,
I hear a distant drum,
It reminds me why we celebrate ….
Our Sweet Saviour has come!!!
… submitted by Joy

****************

On the first day of Christmas, In Stitches gave to me...a SNOWFLAKE in a Christmas tree.
On the second day of Christmas, In Stitches gave to me...two REINDEER and a SNOWFLAKE in a Christmas tree.
On the third day of Christmas, In Stitches gave to me...three TOY DRUMS, two REINDEER, and a SNOWFLAKE in a Christmas tree.
On the fourth day of Christmas, In Stitches gave to me...four quilters CAROLING, three TOY DRUMS, two REINDEER, and a SNOWFLAKE in a Christmas tree.
On the fifth day of Christmas, In Stitches gave to me...piping HOT CHOCOLAAATE! Four quilters CAROLING, three TOY DRUMS, two REINDEER, and a SNOWFLAKE in a Christmas tree."
...And on the last day of Christmas, I was singing the HALLELUJAH CHORUS after winning Holly Jolly Bingo!
… submitted by Deb

****************

To the tune of Star Spangled Banner:
O! say can you see reindeer caroling by me,
Hallelujah chorus sings for the toys Santa brings,
Whose broad waist and red hat beckons us to be fat,
O'er marshmallows smores and the friends we adore?
And the hot chocolate grins, the drums banging like tins,
Gave proof through the night that our faith is still here;
O! say does that bright Christmas tree
Ring in the new born King
O’er the land of the free and home of the brave!
… submitted by Duff

****************

First comes the snowflakes
tumbling down
Then comes the drummer boy playing his drum
Next are the reindeer caroling in loud voices
All the verses of the Hallelujah Chorus
Santa then comes and delivers all the toys
And drinks his hot chocolate left by the good girls and boys!
… submitted by Lee

****************

I heard the thum of the drum.
The reindeer heard it, too!!
It's time to do some caroling,
Amongst a snowflake or two.
The toys are waiting,
The hot chocolate calls,
As our Hallelujah chorus,
Fills all the halls!!
… submitted by grami

Holly Jolly Blog Bingo … Day Two

Holly Jolly Blog Bingo ... Day Two

Good morning and Happy Saturday!  Will your day be filled with shopping?  Decorating?  Quilting?  Crafting?  Sports?  Our middle boy, “The Tall One,” had a soccer game scheduled for this morning, but, alas, the fields are too wet, so the game was cancelled.  So maybe, just maybe, we can get our tree up today!

A little housekeeping before we get started …
I received several emails yesterday that some of you can’t find the posts with the words.  Make sure that if you have our blog address in your list of favorites, you only have the main address … www.the-quilt-shoppe.blogspot.com … not the address that linked to the original bingo post.
Also, if you have your blog account set to “anonymous,” when you leave your comment, don’t forget to add your name and where you’re from.  That way you will qualify to win the daily prize.

Okay … are you ready for today’s words?  Here goes …

Holly Jolly Blog Bingo ... 2010

Are you ready for some holiday fun?

It’s time for our 2nd Annual

holly jolly blog bingo!

All the fun begins FRIDAY, DECEMBER 10

We’ve been getting lots of emails from you, our dear friends, missing our bingo game, So I thought … why not!  It’s the season for giving and definitely for having fun, and we love to do both.  So, let’s play some BIngo!

Game Instructions & Rules:

1. Choose 25 words from the list below. Write them down to save for yourself AND email your list to our special bingo email HollyJollyBlogBingo@TheQuiltShoppe.net. Include your name, mailing address and blog name (this is VERY important) in your email. UPDATE: You do NOT have to have a blog to participate, but please make sure when you post comments you provide your name and email addy so we can contact you. Also, it matters not where you live, you can play our bingo game!

SUPER IMPORTANT:  It is really important that you double check to see if you are a “NO-REPLY” blogger.  Basically what this means is that when you post a comment, we can’t reply back to you.  In the past we’ve had several winners not claim their prize because we couldn’t contact them directly to let them know they won.  To check your setup and make sure everything is A-OK, read this awesome post by Jodi at Pleasant Home.  She’ll get you all squared away!  And, if you aren’t following her blog, you just might want to … just don’t forget to come back here and pick your words.

2. All list submissions must be received by MIDNIGHT (PST) Thursday, December 9.

3. Beginning Friday, December 10, we will post 7 words each day (weekends included). Words will be posted between 7:45 & 8 am PST until someone reaches BINGO!  4. Participants will need to check our blog each and every day to find out what words were called and cross them off your list.  Warning:  If you are waiting for the email copy of our blog post, you’ll most likely get it much later in the day.  So be sure to check here on the blog directly.

5. As soon as you have crossed off all 25 words, please leave a comment posting “BINGO!” We will check your list against the words that have been pulled to make sure it is a good BINGO and will announce the winner in an official congratulatory blogpost. Even if someone has called “Bingo”, please continue to post “Bingo” until a winner is announced.

6. INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND BLOG FOLLOWERS TO JOIN US! Spread the word … blog about it … email your friends … tell all of your quilting buddies to come and join the fun! You can use the blog avatar (below) to add to your blogs and may copy the large graphic above to tell others about our game.

Holly Jolly Blog Bingo ... 2010

6. The purpose of this game is to provide fun and entertainment for our customers and friends. There is no obligation to purchase or participate.

Prizes:

We’re going to shake things up a bit this time around.  Each day that we play, we’ll add something “quilty” to the basket.  It could be fabric, or a pattern, maybe a notion.  One thing is guaranteed, the BINGO winner will receive a huge assortment of quilting items!

Also, beginning Saturday and each day following we’ll have a daily giveaway prize. To enter for the daily prize, simply leave a comment on the previous day’s blogpost about how you’re doing with the game; for example, “I got three words today!” Or, “I love drinking “hot chocolate” by the “Christmas Tree" (making up a sentence with the words you got for that day). As time progresses you may just want to post “I only need three words!” Have fun with it!  Remember though to see the note above about being a “no-reply” blogger.

Only one (1) prize will be awarded each day, and only one (1) grand prize will be awarded.

We hope you will all join us for this special holiday treat!
