Winter Parade … pt. 1

I haven’t forgotten all of you!

So sorry … I’ve had a couple of other huge projects I’ve been working on that have taken an overwhelming amount of time.

Without further ado, here is the first post showing off your amazing projects!  I always love seeing what others are working on, and hope you do to.

This quilt was the one really Christmas-y thing I made this year - it's called "In Winter Snows" and it was made for my husband's administrative assistant (and right arm!) Fortunately, when I got ready to take the pictures, we had a beautiful snow on the ground (an unusual occurrence here in Nashville) and it really made these pictures special! Enjoy!!

Linda made this adorable little wall hanging called "Christmas Basket.”

After working on my Christmas projects, the Crazy Curves quilt on the wall is something I'm working on just to have something fun to do.  I ponder it awhile, get up and move blocks around, then leave it to stew awhile.  I have no deadlines on this one!

The quilt was made for a friend of mine during a Secret Santa Stocking Swap. I had made the quilt top last winter but did not get around to quilting it.  When I drew my friends name for the swap this year I knew I would finish it and give it to her as a surprise.  I mailed it off to her yesterday so she will open it on Saturday!

I also made the stocking for her.  It was the only requirement for the swap.  I filled it full of surprise goodies just for her!

I thought I would share this little Santa I made from felt. It was a gift for a blogger friend. It is a pattern in this issue Australian Homespun magazine.

Hi!  I have just finished a gift for my mother-in-law for Christmas.  It is a cushion as seen in the picture attached.  I printed out their wedding photo from 60 years ago on fabric and stitched it onto the cushion.  Then I used lots of lace and trim and beads and sequins and a few heart charms to embellish it.  It turned out pretty well but this is the re-do.  The first time I did it, I noticed it had gotten dusty from me working on it so I carefully handwashed it only to have the picture disappear!  Egad!  So, I used a newer sheet of printer fabric and printed it out again.  This time I washed it before I sewed it in place and stitched down all the lace!  lol

We’ll be back tomorrow with more goodies!

Thanks for posting my "In Winter Snows" quilt! It was such a nice surprise to see it! I wish I could still say that snow is an unusual occurrence in Nashville, though..... ;-)
