Where did this week go?

I always start out with the best intentions, really, I do.  So early last week I thought, “Next week we’ll have W.I.P Wednesday. That’s, like, a whole 10 days away … plenty of time for blogging, emailing, etc.”

Early Wednesday morning, me and hubby decided to take a few days and go for a drive.  We’ve really needed a couple of days away and it seemed like a good time.

So we hopped in the car and off we went.  After driving for a few hours, we stopped at a rest stop that had this gorgeous river running through it …

And the views of the mountains, spectacular!

Our destination …

Lincoln City, Oregon.  Only 10 hours from  home!

The ocean was beautiful, the seagulls too cute.

We spent all day Wednesday driving up, enjoyed the coast, shopping and fine eateries Thursday, then drove back home on Friday

So peaceful.  So relaxing.  So beautiful.

While we were driving home, Amanda was preparing to leave for a one week vacation to Dallas, via Minneapolis, Arkansas and Atlanta.  In her free time, she is an Independent Sales Consultant for Mary Kay and this week is their annual convention.

The weekend was spent with family activities.  Come Monday morning, it was just little ole’ me here at The Quilt Shoppe, pouring through egads of emails, filling orders, answering phones, etc.  I didn’t forget to blog, or email, but time just got away from me.  Guess what … it did today, too.

So here I sit at 7:30 pm PST marveling at how fast 10 days flew by.

In the spirit of summer vacations, being home with the kids and grandkids, trying to squeeze some stitching in between swimming and camping, we’re going to reschedule WIP Wednesday for next week.

Mark your calendars!
August 4 is WIP WEDNESDAY Parade Day!

Email your entries to wipwednesday@thequiltshoppe.net.  Don’t forget to send along all the pertinent info … name, where you’re from, blog addy (if you have one) a description of your project, and pictures, of course!

And, if you haven’t had time to craft, tell us about your summer highlights (and send pictures)!  We’d love to hear how you’re spending “the lazy days.”

And just to throw in a little summer time fun … everyone that enters our parade will have a chance to win one of these:

Farmer John Marketplace A Farmer John Marketplace fat quarter bundle from Paintbrush Studios.

Happy Summer!
